Chemo treatment day four.

  Checking in to Tampa General Hospital It's been four days since Laura got admitted to the Hospital to start her Chemo treatment, so far she's been doing very good. First day, Monday, room was ready after 6 pm so they just did some bloodwork and talked about the expectations for the treatment. Tuesday all kinds of doctors came to talk, check on her and getting ready to authorize the treatment to begin... Finally at night they brought the IV medications for the Chemo. Day two and three of chemo she didn't have any side effects yet, although on day two the hemoglobin went below the limit so she needed a transfusion.  Day four, today, she's been having a little bit of nausea and her sense of smell is very sensitive so she hasn't been able to eat much because any heavy smell makes her feel more nauseous. She had some cereal in the morning and fruit in the afternoon.  Some of the medications to help with the nausea makes her sleepy so she's been napping and resting ...

AML Diagnosis.

Waiting for her room at the ER In the beginning of March, Laura started feeling different, she was feeling fatigued, having nausea... At one point at work she was with a client and had to stop because she almost fainted; other symptoms she started to have were shortness of breath and rapid heart beat. At first we thought it was a medicine she was on at that time, so she stopped taking it, but her symptoms worsen. Then we wondered if it was a baby coming... So she took a pregnancy test and the result was negative. Concerned about what was happening, Laura went to a Dr's visit and had bloodwork done; this was on a Monday of mid April. Tuesday morning Laura's Dr called and told her to go immediately to the ER because her hemoglobin was too low and she needed a blood transfusion. 4 units of Blood That week she had to stay at the hospital, because Dr's were needing to run more tests, and after a CT scan, bone marrow biopsy and lots of blood drawn, they found a Teratoma on her le...
